Here we have David Banner’s view on people “hatin on da south.” The problem is that HipHop isn’t supposed to be about money, but thats ALL the south is about. Kicking out repetitive song after repetitive song. Killing hiphop by doing the exact same thing over and over again. Dumbing down hiphop. It has become just as repetitive as country music. You know how people say all you need to do to write a country song is to mention your dog, your truck, being drunk, and women. In the dirty south all you have to do is spit about bitches, rims, money, drugs, and cars.
Here is a message to David Banner and anyone else in the south that doesn’t get it:
HipHop is waiting patiently for it’s Smells Like Teen Spirit to come in and change the game. No artist(s) from the south are even coming close to it other than maybe Outkast. Hiphop is waiting guys, we are waiting. Stop giving us shit like Soulja Boy, he isn’t brining the Smells Like Teen Spirit. He just sounds like he has a mouthful of food while he is on the mic.

He’s not talking about the music, he’s talking about the whiny attitudes of some of the people MAKING the music. I think he’s trying to underline that it’s entertainment, and a business — not a reason to be jealous of someone more successful in the “rap game”.

There is good hip hop, you just don’t hear it on the radio. And I’m not sure what you’re talking about with smells like teen spirit.. It brought us out of 10 years of repetitive unoriginal hair metal into 10 years of repetitive unoriginal grunge and pop rock. Most bands have gotten to a point in their career where they are repetitive and unoriginal by the time they’re on the radio. It’s in the natural time line of a band.. theres only so many unique ideas one group of people can come up with in a set amount of time.
